BTC Morty started with a simple question.
Ankit (“chappie”) and Jeff (“Jeff-xyz”) are longtime friends who have been building in Web3 for 10+ years combined. They’ve worked across DeFi, crypto infrastructure, and on-chain products, and they share the same obsession: making crypto more useful for real people.
The idea for BTC Morty was born in Singapore, over ramen in the Marina Bay Sands mall.
Jeff asked Ankit:
“What’s the obvious protocol missing in DeFi?”
Ankit replied:
“Protocols let you lend your BTC… but why don’t they lend it to you?”
That one line became the spark.
Since then, Jeff and Ankit have been working side-by-side to build what is now in beta: BTC Morty, a protocol designed to help users get BTC exposure now and pay over time, directly on-chain.
